Hey! My apartment complex is called san marcos. cool! right? saint mark.

This week we taught a family that is being torn apart by problems with alcohol. They have two little kids. He wants to stop drinking but he fells unable being an alcoholic. I've learned that one of the biggest tools that Lucifer uses to destroy the family is substance abuse. It makes me so glad to be have the word of wisdom in my life. They literally take away the ability to chose and to think in a correct manner to save what they have left. I've met so many people that are imprisoned by substance abuse here, and the fruits have become some what normal such as domestic abuse. I was talking with some members yesterday and they talked so casually about men hitting their wives and visa versa, and that it was ''ok'', in some circumstances. It just made me so thankful to come from a home where that is not ok. I mean everything might not be said in a whisper but that contention never results to hits.

“And he became Satan, yea, even the devil, the father of all lies, to deceive and to blind men, and to lead them captive at his will”.

We found a lady this week that her husband had left with her two kids for another. the week before he had kissed her goodbye and never came back for clothes or anything. As she was telling us what had happed her little four year old daughter came out of her bedroom and clang on to her mothers leg. It about ripped my heart out. We had the opportunity to give her a blessing and we came back the next day. She told us for the first time the whole week she was able to sleep alright, and that to talk and recieve council had helped her alot. We didn't have to many words to say, simply we just gave her a book of mormon and told her that it, acompanied by ernest prayer would help be the best medicine. She understood that through faith the Lord Jesus Christ she could overcome these dificult situations.

Even though it is hard to see people pass through things like these, it is ever more rewarding to see them overcome these hard times. And see how ´´they were brought into bondage, and none could deliver them but the Lord their God, yea, even the God of Abraham and Isaac and of Jacob.´´
